Consultancy

The Vibration Engineering Research Section has the experimental and analysis facilities, expertise and experience to perform the following research and expert consultancy services.

  • Vibration monitoring of full-scale civil engineering structures
  • Modal testing of full-scale civil engineering structures
  • Dynamic finite element modelling of civil engineering structures
  • Finite element model correlation with modal testing results
  • Finite element model updating to fit experimental data
  • Vibration serviceability assessment of civil engineering structures during design (using FE analysis) and after construction (using field vibration measurements)

Our particular expertise is in dynamic analysis, assessment and testing of structures occupied and dynamically excited by people, such as footbridges, long-span floors and grandstands.
